Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie dinged former President Donald Trump for Herschel Walker’s defeat Tuesday in Georgia’s Senate runoff.
“We all remember in 2016, he said, if he got elected, there was going to be so much winning and winning and winning and winning, they’d get sick of winning,” Christie said Sunday during a panel discussion on ABC’s “This Week.” “None of us knew at the time he was actually talking about the Democrats.”
Walker, a former University of Georgia football superstar, was defeated Tuesday by Sen. Raphael Warnock, a Democrat, in Georgia’s Senate runoff. Going into the 2022 election cycle, Georgia had been seen as one of the Senate seats Republicans were most likely to pick up in the midterms.
